My time in Brunei
I start working as a domestic helper in Brunei when I was 19 years old I experienced a lot of hardship working in the Chinese family I work in 22 people in 1 house. I start to wake up at 3:00 in the morning and I can finish my work at 12:00 in the midnight I haven’t taken rest in the middle of the day. Being positive, patient, thoughtful, with determination, perseverance, and believe in God I success and I try to finish my contract with them. I cannot believe that I can make it but in God’s way everything will go smoothly. I learn to love them even though I experienced a lot from them I try to be patient and they give the best reward.
Back in Philippines
I go back with my families with tears of joy in my eyes. When I reach my house I was very tired just like I travel all the mountains I sleep and dreams that all the hardship will gone and I can experience again a better life in Philippines. But my dream haven't come through…. I wake up one day that my family needs my help I discover that my mother had Cancer in the cervix and need more money to support her for medication. I realized that I need to strive a lot for my family my determination and perseverance makes me sucesfull.
I keep fighting for my future I find the way to find a better life and I decided to apply in some agencies even though I don’t have money I still keep on going I haven’t stop to find job in some agencies. And finally there’s host family who sponsor me going Singapore. New environment, new life and new family it’s a difficult beginning for me again, I do my best for them and be a deserving domestic helper on their family. I haven’t stop working during my working hours I need to work so hard to support my family in Philippines. My employer was very supportive to me he help me a lot to cope my loneliness and problems for my mother.
Time goes on and I continue my studies I enrolled at one of Singapore's schools as a Nursing Aid and I become the president of the class 2006 being a leader of the group is a difficult task that I encounter jealousy and everything, but I keep on going and be strong in all rumors and being positive help me a lot to build confidence on myself.
I know that staying Singapore is not my destiny earning a small amount of money cannot help my family, I decided to have an eye on some agencies going to Denmark and Norway and my dreams come true. I was satisfied and God always with me in all means he’s my best friend.
I came in Denmark March 2006 I work with my 1st host family they are very loving and caring family they treat me as their daughter and sister I was very surprise that the way they treat me I haven’t experience before in Asian countries, it’s a big difference the lifestyle, belief and culture. They treat people in equal way and they respect the rights of human and I admire the freedom of speech anywhere. I like Denmark so much it makes me alive, here I feel the real life very peaceful and harmony everywhere all I can say "I'm proud on all Danish people".
